PROBLEM:
Following a previous partner master planning project a space was allocated to build an outdoor performance pavilion, including alcoves and respecting previous context. Oklahoma is incredibly hot and shading was a must, while still preserving air circulation.
sOLUTION:
Using level change, I will create a monumental and secluded experience, while preserving the hierarchy of engineering south. By mimicking the berms used in the larger context of the project, I form a “berm” out of latticed steel members to provide a structural bio-system above and a powerful volume below.
